They’ve walked me through the issues I was having… helped me understand everything… and given me choices so I can pick what would work for me. It’s always something when you own a home, but it’s nice to know there are companies that help ease the headache. Like many American cities, many neighborhoods in and around Chicago struggle with poor water quality. Given the age of municipal pipes, lead contamination is particularly concerning. A 2018 Chicago Tribune report found that 30% of sampled homes had lead levels above 5 parts-per-billion. Health care professionals and researchers agree: there is no such thing as ‘safe’ levels of lead exposure. Lead can make adults sick and impair the proper growth and development of children.

Most lead is delivered to the home through aging, lead service lines. Cities are slowly replacing these lines, but experts advise homeowners take steps to protect their drinking water until this transition is complete. Their recommendation: drinking water filtration systems.
